Based on the classic video game, Rampage is a high-octane, monster-filled action movie that pits a primatologist, Davis Okoye (Dwayne Johnson), against giant mutated creatures threatening to destroy Chicago. After an experiment gone wrong turns a gentle albino gorilla named George into a colossal beast, Davis teams up with a geneticist (Naomie Harris) to stop a monstrous rampage that could obliterate the city.
The film delivers on its promise of action-packed mayhem, with the trio of rampaging creatures—George the gorilla, a mutated wolf, and a massive crocodile—causing massive destruction. While the film is light on plot and heavy on CGI spectacle, Rampage is an enjoyable, popcorn flick that delivers non-stop action and thrilling monster battles.
